I drive a 350z with coilovers being my only suspension mod. My wheels are MB weapons 17x9 +17 offset all around. I'm also gonna lower my car little bit more. [down to 1 finger gaps]

okay, im picking up 255/40/17 falken RT615 tires. It was a great deal so i couldnt pass it. I was gonna use these tires on the front and run 275/40/17 on the back. That's really popular set up among 350z's but most of them daily drive on those tires and not drift.

I know Jbrown on this from uses those tires but he has +150 whp than I do lol My question is... should i use those 255/40/17 on the back and get smaller tires for the fronts? Or should i go with my original plan of using 255 on the front and 275 on the back. Im currently using 225/45/17 on the front and 235/45/17 on the back and It feels good when im driving through corners.

Any suggestions?

235 front 255 rear!

You don't need more than that! You have tons of option vids go check out what D1 guys run... Honestly drifting, 235 is all you need up front.

you know, some people dont have issues tucking rubber. 275 on a 9 is not unheard of in the grip community.

not everyone mounts 215 on a 9 lol ...

if i was you, 17x 9 on a Z id go with a 255 45 front and 265 45 rear

staggard look near stock tire diameter.

normally i would say 255/front 275+ rear

but you only have 9 so i would go with
235 front 245 rear
245's all around
245 front 255 rear.

my mom 1st set up was Konig Troubles 19x9 w/ 245 all around and it looked pretty clean, nice simple stretch.... and would break loose with a mostly stock VQ.

Well unfortunately on the Z/G35 you have to run a staggered set up because of the traction control/ABS, the rear tire height must be .5 -.75in taller than the front. 275s on a 9in wide wheel is actually correct, it will fit just fine. If you run anything less than a 255 you run the risk of wearing out the outer edges of the tire. Go with your original idea of 255/40 up front and 275/40 in the rear if you***8217;re going for grip. If you***8217;re going for drifting then just use the 255s on the rear and use a 235 on the front...just remember that 9in is a wide wheel and like I said you may wear out the edges of the tire stretching them like that.
