either 62-1 or t67.
I'll prolly go for 62-1. They're good for 600 and have a nice quick spool up. Perfect for a street appplication.

you should call turbo by garrett and ask them. im pretty sure if you tell them the motor and your power goals and flange they can help you out.
if anything just find out what size / equivilant garrett turbo you should get.

nah. Why should I call them when I can just do the research myself? I'm about 99.9% that a 62-1 or t67 is perfect for me.
I pick turbonetics over garrett anyways :goodjob:

its oil cooled right?
why dont you check the lines ... maybe get bigger lines or a better setup
i dunno
sounds like an oil issue
running synthetic right?
Yeh i've seen dan go through quite a few turbos. Hopefully it's the incorrect PCV valve like we think... Maybe that will solve his ghost boosting problem too :).
Sucks that you blew yours Decker. How long did it take and do you know why?

i do run a larger feed line and i have upgraded the oil cooler lines, but i think i need a restrictor valve for the feed line.. and i run conventional 10w30. no synthetic for me.. id leak out of every crevice in the motor... plus its got 110k on the motor... not worth it!

your oil might be cooking in the turbo... have you ever taken apart one of them to see if there was alot of oil cook?
and btw ive got 175,500 miles on my car and yes, i leak sythetic out the rear main seal... not before i put synthetic tho... ><
my motor is temporary tho.
you should do a rebuild and maybe get a larger turbo =D

Well ... out of all the 2j swaps, my twins have lasted the longest. I guess I was lucky and got a decent set. JDM twins don't last very long past stock boost ... not to mention the fact that I like to beat the shit out of my car.

Stock Twins are known to grenade past 14psi, decker was doing 16+ for the last 6-8 months.
The JDM twin 2JZ turbos are ceramic wheels, which means they spool fast, but they blow up easily too.
it was inevitable it was going to happen, an honestly we all had bets it wouldnt last 30 days.
Oh well, time for bigger an better :)
