i have the chance to get some APEXI COILOVER N1 Damper ExV (Expert Type V) for pretty good deal.....just wanted to see if anyone had and hard feelings on them, or at least some really good reviews

Carina has Apexi N1's, the old school ones, on her S14. She likes them. I like them. They go super low. Win, Win, Win.

All i can say. S13 Apexi coilover = garbage. Doesnt compete with Megan. My friend andrews car has them, they are decent, but he bought it for the name (like most would because of their reputation) and paid a hell of a lot more than what Megans are worth, and agrees that Megan would have been a better choice.

But dont take my word for it, I dont know anything. The important thing is we both agree Ksports suck.

thats what he has I believe, I dont remember them being red, so Im assuming these are right on the money. I apologize for generalizing Apexi coilovers, but these specifically suck. I actually think my friend steve might have related them to Ksports when he was drifting..if I remember correctly :ohnoes: I hope not.

Dont like paying over 1100 $? Then why buy coilovers, Why not learn to be a badass drifter / road racer by pushing a stock s13 to its physical limits. If its about having fun..why cant it be fun to push the limits of the car ? Why do you need to buy coilovers at all? iMO alot of people give up really early on looking toward themselves to fix a performance problem and go right into "what part can i buy so my car will do this" instead of "how can i learn to drive my car in a mannar to make it do this"

If you are at the point where you cant do any more with the car..and its no longer fun and you want to go faster then spend the money on a quality part

Yeah, that's to the point I'm at now. I'll get Megan Streets and come up with my own opinion of them. I've heard more positive than negative feedback from people who actually have/had them. If they suck, I'll sell them...live and learn.

In all reality, they are all the same.

Apex, Tein, Megan, Ksport, are all China coilovers, and some are made in the same facility side by side. Megan and APex come from the same facility.

as far as which one is "better" it all depends on what you are doing.

If you want to drift, personally 90% of the people are fine with Megans or K sports. The 32 Way adjustable dampening, while its good, 90% of you wont use it or wont use it the right way.

Seriously how many people are adjusting their dampening depending on what track you are at? be honest.

How many of you get your suspension setup and an alignment done before each event?

I mean Dan from Batlground took 4th overall last year on Megan Coilovers in NOPI DRIFT. So they are good for semi pro drivers.

Im sorry but most people buy coilovers an slame the car on the ground with zero suspension travel and put dampening on full kill and ride out.

I agree with the fact that most people will never need or use the difference between a good coilover and a bad one.

I dont like when people say these parts are made in the same factory as these other parts. The physical location of where they are both made might be the same. BUT, the tolerances, quality, everything else important can and probably is totally different.

This is done in the U.S too, most manufacturers have contracts with all kinds of brands to make similar products. That doesn't mean they are the same at all, they are made to the specifications that the brand wants.

But i was looking at PBM, Stance GR+ Pro, and BC racing coilovers. But i ended up need to save some money, so i went on the look for barely used coils and found these Apexi's
