I'm gonna try and finally finish my 5-lug conversion this week-end. Question in this; I have complete S14 turbo front hubs, brakes, spindles and lower arms. Do I use S14 lower arms or use the S13 lower arms??? I searched on-line and have found answers saying both are correct. Sooooooooo anyone have first-hand experience with this? I apologize if this has been covered before, I searched but didn't find anything related.

from my knowledge, you can have the s14 ball joints pressed into the s13 lca's

^^ That's what I thought, but when I searched some sites said the S14 were a direct bolt-up, some said it would increase the track 10mm.. Some said the S14 wouldn't work at all.... LOL

I appreiciate the answer.

Exactly. You HAVE to use S14 ball joint on an S13 lower control arm. The part of the spindle that seats on the ball joint is 1/8" thicker for S14's, so the castle nut won't tighten down far enough to slide the cotter pin through.

Don't forget that the spindle bolts have a larger diameter so you'll either need to upsize the holes on your struts or get S14 front suspension.

Rears, remove the 36mm axle nut, and undo the (4) 19mm bolts that hold the hub/bearing assembly to the spindle and just swap it over. The bearing assemblies are the same, so there's no need to break apart the S14 unit and press it into the S13 bearing assembly.

^^^ Reps to you as well.

not to jack the thread, but to piggy back off the prior response: is that where the "sleeves" come in?

If you're reusing S13 spindle bolts, I would imagine so since they are a thinner diameter. I used all new S14 hardware since I had S14 front coilovers.

so you can use s14 front suspension and it will bolt-up?

Yes, S14 front suspension bolts right up, provided your spindle bolts are the proper fit.

S14 rears will not work on S13. The struts are about 3" too long, and the mount plate is about 1" too large in diameter.
