all ive got now is some front and rear struts and an lsd.
i dont really wanna build the motor. i want to do a swap.
i just dont know which one. i want an sr cuz i can drop it right in
then i want a CA18. but then i want an RB25. i just dont know which way to go.

What was the other car running? SOHC's have made more hp than DOHC N/A.
If you are driving a stock sohc why the fuck would you race anything other than a Vespa? 140 hp is snail power. Build the engine, turbo do anything but whine about losing a race with a stock engine.

btw, the sohc engine was made for racing by nissan. it was just made to be n/a and run a carb setup. it can be powerful if you do things right.

I dont know if I am just crazy.
But the SOHC that was originally in my hatch would pull alot harder than the S14 DOHC thats in it now.

But apparently the first run of SOHC's had more compression or something, so maybe I was one of the lucky ones with that.

Motorsets are around $1200.
Figure in an extra $500-600 for intercooler, piping, exhaust and random shit you may need.

Just figure around 2 grand, that way if you undershoot you feel better about it, lol.

Alot of how much a swap costs boils down to whether you do it all yourself, or have a shop do it.

but i dont really have the know how or the tools or the money right now to do it my self.
but by the time i finish finish school and save money id be able to do it myslef.

Atleast your going about it the right way, and putting school/career before a hobby. Mad respect. +18.

Just take your car slow. If its running good now, just do the routine maintenance, keep good fluids in it, and work on other aspects of it, such as suspension or paint/body, just take it a step at a time. Thats the way I'm starting to take mine. Just piece at a time, and I figure by next summer, I'll have mine just about where I want it.

I'll fifth the KA-T option. I might be a noob when it comes to 240's but there's no better way to blow an engine up than with a turbo. Seems like the KA was a rather well engineered block, might as well have some fun with it.

Amen. Blow it up, they're like a 100 bucks for a replacement. Just get yourself a daily driver or backup car that isn't an S13. I recomend that to anyone who owns an S13.

You can get some motosets for ceheap from around 900-1200$ CA is the easitest swap when it comes down to SR and RB. You can use the stock mounts and it will bolt right up. The intercooler pipping is a little harder to come by if you want the swap done cheap ssautocrap has one for the ca18 but I don't suggest it and afsil80 wouldn't either. You would have to buy a BOV too cause the CA didn't come with one stock. The 89 240 I had for sale a little while ago had a CA in it. It was a blast to drive I loved the little bastard. Parts are hard to come by really for that engine. :/ Just my 2 cents
