mmhm, the best part is i already have a 302 at the house. its in the f150 which is supposedly getting hauled off. so if it does i'll yank the motor out of it.

if it doesnt it will be the tow bitch. but to get the motor done is about 2 grand in hard parts, plus a tranny (500)
its just getting the shell ready, im more than likely going to finish the sr20coupe first

And coming from the Mustang world, I still love the sound dad's old solid lifter stroked cammed small block with open long tubes. Ask sofo, he heard it as well.

yes, i found a scat atroker kit for 750, makes it a 347, .40 overbore. then its just cam (found a nasty 305 comp) lifters, heads, etc. so with the motor i have now i can have a stroked 302 for about 2k. i even cound a t5 tranny for cheap.

i need a shell first tho, lol

.40 over is not a 347, but close enough.

I would say your estimate is a little low. If you going with new water pump, oil pump, etc etc, and with the machine work, you are really low. Unless you can pull your uber cool, machine work for free crap. Then you should be ok.

The key to making power in a 302 is heads. How do I know this? Well my 95 has everything but heads, and is still slow.

Oh and for what's it is worth, I talked to my dad yesterday, and he was plumbing up another intake to run another stage of nitrous.
