I wonder how it knows what gear you're in :-\

According to TMTuning, installation is straightforward, the LCD has an auto-dimming feature and it can be yours in blue or red for $169.00. Worthwhile? That's in the hand of the beholder.

If i had an extra 200 bucks i would at least think about it

yeah maybe thats a sweet shifter
it knows what gear you are in because its probably got a bunch of velocity sensors
perhaps one on the very top and one an inch lower.
so when you shift it knows what direction you are moving by the difference of the velocity numbers pumped out by the two sensors.
its probably a 3 axis sensor.
says you gotta program it...
so id asume you punch in how many gears u got and where your reverse is
or maybe you put it in reverse and hit a program button
then it displays 1
and you put it in 1 and hit the program button
then 2
so forth
...
thats how id make it be programmed if i was the creator...

that shit is hawt! i like it. that would be and is the LAST thing i'd think about though, i'd prolly slap it in if my car was 80% finished as far as mods go. hell i'm at the 15% mark now, that's called buying and maintaining folks. actually, tint and system are in the 15% as well.

I'd have to agree that if you really need that, you shouldn't be driving a 5 speed LOL. The technology is cool tho...

that's definitely an original shift knob

they should make one based on a magic 8 ball

when you shift, it shakes it. then magically ends up on the gear you're in. hehe

ok... not really...
