Ok so I have the redtop SR in my 1995 240sx se
I know I need the vehicle speed sensor out of my ka's old trans right.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Vehicle speed sensor which sends it's signal to the speedometer in the gauge cluster is the sensor on the transmission that is futhest toward the back right?
So can someone tell me which connector on the lower engine wiring harness is for the speed sensor, because the futhest back is a black connector with 2 prongs, BUT the speed sensor I got from Advanced auto parts doesn't connect to it. Am I trying to connect it to the wrong connector?
Can someone please get me pics of the S14 vehicle speed sensor, the location that the sensor is installed, and the connector on the lower engine harness it connects to? Also am I suppose to use the speed sensor gear from the s13 one that I take out? or do I have to have a S14 gear?
Please help. I need to get this speedometer working ASAP. It's my daily driver.

That black two prong plug is for the speed sensor. Its smaller that the other plugs and the clip mechanism is different. The other plugs on the tranny are grey oval plugs and are really distinct.

As for the gear, they are color coded for the rear end you have, so you will need to get one that matches whatever ring gear you have out back.

The S14 & S13 Speed Sensors are different. The S13 has a wire coming out of it like ^^ pictured where as the S14 sensor has the connector on the sensor. Your S14 harness has a two prong female connector that connects to the SS which yes is the furthest back on the bottom of the tranny.

You can't use the S13 sensor.
Your spedo will read double.
You have to use the speed sensor that matches your cluster.
S14 sensor w/ S14 cluster
S13 sensor w/ S13 cluster

Ok I know from experience the sr speed sensor doesn't work with my s14, because i cut and hardwired the sensor to the lower wiring harness. I get nothing on my speedometer, just reads 0 all the time.
Here is the plug I cut off: what I believe to be the speed sensor plug:

And here is the speed sensor Advanced Auto Parts gave me:

The thing is, the plug on the speed sensor doesn't match ANY of the plugs on my lower engine wiring harness. Shouldn't this sensor's plug match the black plug pictured above?

It looks like you got a S13 sensor.
You need a S14 one.
I don't think the plug is going to match up. Just cut the one off the harness and solder a S14 plug on it.
Use the S14 lower harness, not the SR one.

I have the KA lower engine harness from my old motor on there right now.
I was looking at the speed sensor and I thought it looks like the s13 one because if I remember what my old KA trans VSS looked like, I thought it was black plastic or something. BUT Advanced Auto Parts computer system brings that up as the correct VSS for a 1995 Nissan 240SX SE. So why doesn't any of the plugs on my lower engine harness match my NEW Advanced auto parts speed sensor?
I don't want to cut the plug off the new sensor and find out it doesn't work, because then I can't return it. I think the plugs should match... after all I bought a USDM 95 240sx manual trans VSS and I have the USDM KA lower engine harness.
Any ideas?

They gave you the wrong sensor.
That is a S13 one. Take it back and tell them its the wrong one.
You need this one:
