View Full Version : Removing ebrake cover

Anyone have any advice? I tried yanking it, with no results.

if its an s13 grab it by the base while its up, pull it up and slide it off, ive taken mine off like 10 times, everytme i go to bacuum my car. just make sure u grab the base and try and wiggle it, if u grab it by the shaft theres too much pressure on it and it wont slide off

It is definitely a biatch, but it will come off if you try hard enough. I usually just twisted and pulled and it came off a little bit at a time.

I wouldnt use any lube or anything, it may never go back on correctly and stick afterwards. Maybe some water or something that is really volitile that wont leave a residue.

Thanks, and it is a s13. I have a spin knob I want to put on while it's raining ;)

Thanks, I got the cover off. But I was making sure the knob fit before I put the cover back on, and the knob got stuck on there. I guess my ebrake will be naked from now on.

hahahahaha

I did that once :) The knob will come off with some elbow grizzle.

I'm afraid it will pull the whole thing out. Will the knob come off before the locking mechanism?

What kind of knob did you get? Ive never had the lil plastic button come out on me, but I guess its possible. the covers stretch though, so you may be able to put it back on and stretch it over the knob.

I got it all on right. Thanks for the help. The knob looks like it sticks out a lil father then it should. But I don't think it's going anywhere.
