ok im fixin to buy a body kit. some of you saw my other thread about that. but anyways i was looking at the SSR Professor SP1 and they come in 4 lug. i have a 4 lug and thats wat im looking for. i dont want to spend the extra for the conversion. i also see that i can get Work Euroline Dh.

my question is wat size of the two wheels should i get. i want 18 but wat width and offset. im getting the Origin- Lab stream kit fyi. and its for a S14 Kouki. its pretty much down to those two

have you decided if you're going widebody yet? i understand that you don't want to spend the money, but you really open up the options a lot more if you go 5 lug.

Do you have a list of what sizes and offsets those wheels come in? That would help us give a better suggestion instead of us just throwing out some sizes and offsets that may not be available.

18s
they come in 7-10.5

then there is a grid with different offsets. at the top it says 34mm 46mm 59mm and 72mm then it has all the + sizes.

+75,62, 54, 44, and so on so forth.

I would buy the wheels you want first then do whatever mods you need to make them fit afterwards.

New or Used?

I'm a big fan of used wheels myself, getting new stuff just breaks my wallet and then heart... in that order.

some good used wheel sites:

RBwheels.com
jhotimports.com
jspec.com

i perfer mew but if they are in good condition i would be game.
thanks for the sites im fixin to check em out.

i was just on silvia looking and i see that 17x9 and 17x10 fit fairly easy.
and also that 18x10 18x11 fit with a lil roll/pull
so im thinking 18x8.5 f 18x9.5 r or 18x9 f 18x10 r and just roll/pull as lil as possible

i haven't ever seen 4 lug like that. somebody jump on it.

Cameron.

michael you suck at offset plus wheel size knowledge.

theres no such thing as too big.. make it fit. dont buy the wheels and have them just fit. buy the wheels and make your car fit them.

18x9 +0 18x10 +10. good sizes.

and dude, theres nothing wrong with used wheels, whoever said there is deserves to be shot, cause pretty much you want to go low and you want to fit big wheels... Hello Stretched tires. hello curb rash (technically road [grit] rash, but who calls it that?. why pay 3000+ and scar your wheels when you could get better sized wheels with minimal curb rash for half that. if i didnt tell you, youd never realize my chrome lips have the slightest curb rash.

i haven't ever seen 4 lug like that. somebody jump on it.

dude i saw you at FD, whats up with your offset? lol. if you gonna go for G baller wheels, you gotta have a gangsta offset.

(idk if you walked down to the pits but i was the car with sexypants on the windshield)

yea very true idk anything about wheel sizes i no the basics but the rest is chinese to a jap. but thats y i have you and 240atlanta:goodjob:

but any who yea i just need to no wat size and how... spacers, pull/roll, etc.

but im still gonna keep it 4 lug

also keep in mind if you have a 9 wide wheel with a 45 off set it will be way way way way diff from a 9 with -10 or something. i just seen that you were talking about just 10 inch wheels fitting on your car. offset is the most important part of wheels.

offset is everything
thats what she said. no but seriously dude, offset really is everything. thats why when its time to buy a set for my 240 me and "the cameron"(voicemail), are going to be sitting together at a computer figure'ing this crap out. cameron+wheel knowledge=ftw. oh and also, used lims, i mean rims(sry asian came out) are totally FTW.

yea im looking at the 18x11 18x13 equips on zilvia. they are +15 and are fairly cheap.

good luck getting those to fit.

are you planning on running widebody, or wider front fenders?
and do you plan on driving this thing daily and/or hard at the track

personally, I wouldnt go higher than 9 or 9.5 with anywhere from ~0 to +15 in the front, and 10 or 10.5 ~0 to +12 in the rear on stock body, without killing yourself trying to make them fit
wider than that, you have to run alot of camber, and it eliminates the need for wide front wheels.

those wheels on ziliva sound like mashed potatoes johnson's old wheels. He said they were up for sale again by someone.

CodyW
05-16-2008, 07:33 PM
potatoes had the 10's and 12's (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=190122).

kinda wanted those a lot, but they're sold already.

Cameron.

michael, unless your going widebody and want to pay for 335 (width) tires (which would still be a stretch sorta) DO NOT Get 13's lol... i would venture to say that the safest maximum stretch on a 13 would be either a 285 or a 295, you do not want to pay for those tires....... NONONONONONONONO!!! 10's are ok 11's are ok. 12's and 13's are too big (for you), and pointless except for looks. but as stated before Offset IS Everything. you could have a 7 inch wide wheel with a -50 offset (LOL) and have a bigger lip that a 9 inch wide wheel with a say a -12 offset. not that that would be cool but thats a 5.5 in. lip vs a 5 inch lip. (approx. not taking into consideration that where it exactly 0 offset is behind the spoke, so take off about an inch off those lip sizes. That was a stupid example but yea.... just get me to come over one day and ill help you decide if the wheels you want will fit your car (without overfenders, just pull, cause i know you at least want good sizes so a pull will be necessary..)

TaiKneePony
05-18-2008, 10:37 PM
i would like to go widebody but not right now but ill prob go wider front with pull on the back. so i was thinking 9 and 10 (f/r) or 9.5 and 10.5 (f/r).

i understand the offset thing(like "offset is everything") but i also want a wider tire. cuz when you ride behind any car with skinny tires it looks like crap.

but yea the offset is wat i need help with. Cam come over 2mro after school and well chill/go over everything until i have to go to work:goodjob:

9.5/10.5 with stock body is easy.

TaiKneePony
05-19-2008, 05:13 PM
pull or no pull?

Jesse

PULL! w/9.5/10.5

CodyW

cuz when you ride behind any car with skinny tires it looks like crap.

skinny tires aren't what make cars look like crap, it's skinny wheels.

here's a 225 (not a particularly wide tire) on an 11" wheel, and i think it looks pretty aggressive.

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j278/sidewaysnate/feb08balcony004.jpg

so more examples here: http://www.ziptied.com/forums/index.php?topic=2542.0

^ yes. i have 215's on 9.5's and it stretches them all the way to look like a 245, but the contact patch is what wont stretch.

but just run skinnys up front and go a little wider on the rear like 235ish.

I have question since this is a wheel size and offset thread. Will 17x9 with a +35 offset fit all around my car with just a fender roll? or should I run a different offset?

down_shift
05-21-2008, 05:59 PM
lol you wont even have to roll.

Cameron.
05-21-2008, 07:45 PM
if your running coilovers it will most likely rub. try lower offsets.

MossMan
05-21-2008, 08:32 PM
what about +27 or +17 offset

Cameron.
05-21-2008, 08:37 PM
+27 would still prolly rub. maybe... depending on the design of the wheel cause my 18x9 +24's rubbed on the coilover. but +17 would be fine.

TaiKneePony
05-22-2008, 04:40 PM
you no wat i mean not tires, wheels. but yea i no strech= mean!
