Do bushings make that big of a difference?

The only car that I have needed sway bars on was my maxima, because that thing is a boat compared to a 240. I have Tanabe sustec pro II's and its hard to find body roll at all. way bars dont yield that dramatic of a change depending on your suspension now. I would go with the cheapest, while thickest, one you can find.

yea...
if you dont want your body to roll at all... alot of times drifters setup this way for instant transitions. ect ect. but honestly... for handling. you want consistent body roll. so either cough up the dough for some expensive sways or run stocks.

just my oppinion. if you put ebay shiz in your suspention everywhere. it will fall apart eventually lol

Do bushings make that big of a difference?

yes they do ^_^

all the mush = bye bye.

you then feel your sucky struts and unibody flex :P

do the bushing kit. then decide if you want to eliminate body roll.

but you shouldnt get sway bars to eliminate body roll you should get nice coilovers. adjust them and try to get the performance you like. if you then cant achieve the right setup. look into a sway bar upgrade.

but this is just like... for grip stuff street stuff track stuff.... drifting is a little different lol what grip car runs 0 offset? LOL a mustang? :P

well $159 for front AND rear sway bars that are second only to Largus is damn good considering tanabe is third and cost's $170 for the front and $170 for the back. thats a damn good price and ive been thinking about getting those too. only problem is that low quality crush bending that most others dont have. but everyone is right i would go for the bushing kit and them maybe sway bars. only problem is getting old bushing off, unless u have a shop press or a torch

Godspeed is hollow and utilizes crush bends instead of mandrel bends like every other manufacturer.
There's a reason why they're so cheap.. they're made with cheap stuff.

I contemplated going with Godspeed swaybars, but I bought ST swaybars instead.

I'm sure at least 5 years, polyurethane, anyways.

If you're going to re-do all the bushings.. expect to have one pita time.
lol, I'd just get all adjustable arms instead.. which is what i've done. :-P

PBM parts for the rear..

pbm?

I would go w/adjustable suspension arms.
I put Prothane bushings in the front end in January, and have put them in the rear knuckle backing plate 2 weeks ago (swapped to R33 rears ~ while they were out ya know? they were bitches, terrible, terrible bitches) And i have Wicked tuning RUCA's.

When i put on the front bush's the car lost so much body roll..... I was really suprised. It corners way flatter now and my tires can't quite keep up.

The rears i haven't really noticed much, but haven't replaced the arm-body side yet b/c i'm lazy.

rear subframe spacers are so easy and tighten everything up alot.

My car has Eibach sportlines and AGX's. when set on full soft it rides better now than it ever did before any mods.

based on ease of installation v. price v. performance I have come to the conclusion that stock sucks period. Saving money and doing things in stages is the way to go. I wouldn't have spent $160 on bushings in the first place if i knew how much adjustable suspension was. Heim joints are the way to go but it all really depends on your goals with your car.

What i wished i had done:
rear sub spacers
new sway bars
adjustable springs + struts / coilovers
Adjustable suspension arms

I tried the hicas rear sway bar (still have it too); it definitley was an upgrade from stock I think 19mm vs 21mm, but the Whitelines were noticeably better plus I get adjustability

i just got some MAX subframe collars. Great product, but I'm not happy about shipping. They charged $20 for shipping and it took 12 days for them to get to me. They didn't even ship them until 6 days after I placed my order when I emailed them asking about shipping details. That's a lot of money to pay to have some collars shipped UPS priority and not get them for 12 days..

babowc
05-13-2008, 09:36 PM
dang.. $20 to ship some collars, lol.
It shouldn't cost more than 8..flat rate..

I got my stuff quick when I got em..
this was nearly a year ago, though.

Cash
05-13-2008, 09:40 PM
Yea.. They're making up for their cheap prices with shipping I would imagine. The collars were only $50 though, so $70 shipped. Even Megan Racing collars are $90, so I guess that's not that bad.. But yea, that just frustrates me when people jack up their shipping prices to make up for lower selling prices. That's like doubling down on the oral sex if you have a small penis.

Lol at cashs comment ^ but yeah. Im gonna just replace my subframe bushings with something else. Not solids. I dont really want collars. To me its like getting wheel spacers lol. But anyways. Yeah full bushing kit. Do the uprights and lca too dont be lazy. And dont bend your lca. If you can. Weld the seams on the rear lca when you take it off. And re finish them. They are weak. Wes bent one of his recently durring a bushing install

Like I said,
if you're going through all that trouble to replace those damn bushings, it's much easier to just get new arms.

Shipping was quite reasonable when I got my coilovers and the rear arms..
50 for coilovers and 15 ea. for the arms.

suspension techniques. summit racing has them. cant remember the price but was cheaper than most everyone else and they work great. also summit had them to me in like 3days.

also the GodSpeed front sway does not clear a greddy oil pan. just in case you ever thought you might get a greddy oil pan dont buy godspeed sways. you gets mad later.
