Tuesday this week, on Satellite Blvd going to work. This 06 si was on my tail for like 2 mins so I downshift and change lane. He followed me and we both made a right into Beaver Ruin Road. I took the middle lane and floor it. He took the right lane and get right next to me. I was like WTF?? I knew my car was not that slow. Anyways, I slow down for the light, and he was doing the waving thing (turning left and right within the lane). I opened the window and talked to him for a sec. He had an intake and exhaust on. I told him a little something about my car and he was like "well, these car came 200hp from factory." Then light turned green, and we took off. His car was faster than mine in 1st gear (about half a car, but I was not launching anyways) and pretty much stayed that way until 3rd gear. Then we spitted and I remembered I have my AC on (he had his window open all the time I saw him, so no AC for him). I should have turned it off...

SR and AC combo make 20 less whp...

First time I got to 3rd gears and then stop lights ahead. Second time I turned to Indian Trail Roads and he head straight. It is more like he got a better start for the half to 1 car length from me. It stayed that way even when I was shifting gears.

I rode in an '00 Si and it hit VTEC. I believe my quote was "how cute it is going faster".

Then I let the owner of it ride in my Spec V. He grabbed the oh shit handle and said 3 times "Holy shit that is alot of torque". (Spec V only made about 154tq at that time) I laughed because it doesnt have that much tq...

I hate people keep saying s-chassis is for drifting. There were no drifting sense when s-chassis was born. FR car was not made to drift. I do not see people drift Model T when it came out so I am pretty sure I am right on this. If Civics are RWD, they would be the weapon of choice. It just happened that it is one of the only affordable platform that has good power to weight ratio. Hell, a AAA agent pissed me off when I told him like 5 times I got a S14 to road racing, not drifting. And all he asked me was "oh, are you going to drift?"

I wouldnt drive a Civic that was RWD. I hate the hp\tq curves of those motors with a passion. I also cant stand the VVL or VVT-L motors either. Cam changing programs FTL, cam phasing FTW.

After owning two single cams S13, a s14 and then a SR swap, sometimes I get piss off riding in a civic, or any car lacks of tq. I just have the question in my mind. Why are they not moving??

There is supposed to be some kinda of a/c bypass when you go WOT, but I noticed on my Sentra SE, it was kinda slow to react. I just made sure it was off! I destroyed ever single Civic SI (older 160hp) from the lights. By the time they VTEC kicked in, we were out of room on the road. In fact, I only once got beat by one at the strip by 0.1 seconds, but he had a semi-stripped interior and some bolt ons.

I would not care any other si besides the newest one. It makes 200 at the crank, when mine makes about 200 at the wheel. I was not really racing him at the beginning, just trying to lose him.

An older SI with some bolt-ons will take you out if launch like a pansy! Dude, if a Honda is next to and even remotely looks like they want to race, I am in 60 foot mode!

dammit
05-22-2008, 06:26 AM
dont even talk about 60-foot times unless you have AWD and/or a V8... possibly turbo 6

and if you have both, fuck you for being so damn rich

No they will never be able to do that.

I can talk 60-foot all I want! With my little Nissan Sentra, I schooled a lot of V-8 F-bodies and 5.0s at the track (60-foot wise). Speaking of 4-cylinders, I know of several KA-powered vehicles running mid 1.5 60-foot times, in fact one guy on drag240sx is running 1.4.

Do not talk about 60-foot times unless you have actually drag raced!

He does drag race, but I doubt if he could put down a 1.4 60-foot time.

Once I put good tires on I will prolly be able to get into the 1.8-1.9 area.

We should meet up sometime....I have special trick I invented for front drivers to get a good launch, I would post it up here, but I know I will get flamed!

Obviouisly he does not realize its not all about power. You do have to have a certain amount of power, but its mainly suspension, traction/tires. I found the quote from this guy who was running a S13 with stock injectors, head, intake, etc., a ton of fuel pressure and DRY nitrous:
"Mickey Thompson ET Drag 26x10x15, consistant 1.40 60ft's, less than 300hp"
