There's a reason for me deleting all the unnecessary posts that are being made on that vendor review thread.

Main point being that bystanders will normally elevate the situation into some kind of a flamefest.

Please refrain from posting in that thread.

basically if youre going to moderate something. you delete outrageous posts.

and i think in the event of another drama thread like tyler and homeadelemonade's i think the first initial complaint. should be private. only viewable to mods, once this complaint is issued as a buyer seller feedback. the moderator of the buyer seller feedback sends the text to the person complained about. once a responce is given, the thread will be public, and only the two parties will be alowed to post in the thread.

this eliminates all irrelevant posts. and keeps the "heat of the IBTL" bs down.

but no one listens to me when i say close a thread.

Dont matter if its a good or bad review. using homemade thread as example, i just dont like people comment with stupid stuff, non related to the topic at hand, like the popcorn picture, beer etc. want to make a comment? stick to the topic. Basically, simple have something to say good or bad about a buyer/seller post it. Moderators should NOT try to lock or delete it. again thats why its called vendor review, not "say only good things" section

i just dont like the concept. a strict guidelines should be made in the buyers feed back section. a forum is a forum.

a feedback section should not be a thread. it should be a request / submitted kind of deal.

I try to encourage a friendly type of moderating where PM's are sent more than infractions. I normally only give out infractions only when I think that someone is breaking our rules after they've been asked not to... Or repeatedly breaks the rules. Or simply can not comprehend the rules... I think its the manner in which people are approached that determines the outcome of a situation many times. People will be much more eager to work with you if they feel you're working with them...

I agree with this to an extent.

Since the thread was made public, it it only proper for Tyler to publicly respond. A few other people had made comments but I didn't see the thread until after it had been closed.

As far as how this matter shoulda been dealt with, I will say that Tyler and I had a small issue between us in a business deal, but I would like to believe that it has been resolved in a manner that neither of us are going to blast each other. He was civil with me, and I made sure to remain polite with him.

That being said, I don't know 100% of the details on what happened between Komi/Decker/Tyler. In fact, NONE of us aside from the three of them can truthfully speak on what has happened. Therefore, anyone bitching about stuff getting moderated is wasting their breath if they had no play in the matter. I can understand sticking up for a friend, but don't cry out and start bitching at moderators when someone starts slandering your friend. Provide relevant info but don't go saying 'z0mg he's upset with my friend!!! ban him!! lock thr3ad!!!!11'

I've defended friends on here and moderators have intervened and deleted what I felt were worthwhile posts. Did I respond back and call them out on it? No, I sucked it up and realized that they chose their actions for a reason.

I'm not trying to preach real heavy here, but being an admin on another site w/ decent activity, I know that the admins/mods are at that rank for a reason. The owner trusts them and their judgement.

Just because you have high rep or post count doesn't make you right all the time.
