Ok well basically.. me and a friend started a female drift team a couple months ago.. we are still in the making but we are all really passionate about cars and drifting.. almost every member except for maybe 2 can drift and are pretty good at it.. and the 2 that arent.. our are little project girls hehe.. we gotta show em the ropes.. but anyways.. we wont be goin to any shows or events this year cus half of us are in school and most of us wont be able to make it to half the events.. so NEXT car season we will be attending all the local and some other southeastern shows.. i know theres gunna be alota shit talkers about us but i really could care less.. cars are my passion and drifting is too.. so talk all the shit you want and call us posers or w/e .. cus we could careless! nothins gunna stop us! :] but anyways the more support we have the better! i went to college full time and worked multiple jobs for 3.5 years before graduating, and still did every single event that has ever been in this town, so anything is possible :). oh, and every event in atlanta (with the exception of formulaD) has been a practice event, and that is undoubtably the best way to learn (i hear so many people saying they need to go "practice' before they do an event, and that's definately the wrong way to look at it). nobody cares if you go out there and aren't perfect at it (except the occasional crowd drifter, but most of those people are have never and will never do any type of performance driving, so their opinions are worthless).

not trying to sound annoying or hate on any of you with my thoughts by the way, just some advice after being in this game for a number of years. like everyone else, i would really love to see some more girls get involved with the sport, but just want to make sure it's done in a safe, legal manner, which also helps you learn so much faster than on your own in streets or parking lots.

good luck with it though, and like marty i'll be glad to lend a hand with instruction or anything like that when you make it out to some events.

Has anyone noticed how defensive a lot of girls are when they say they like to work on cars or they like to drift? It usually goes something like this: "I swapped my motor. NO nobody helped me, I did it myself" or "We're starting a drift team. Talk all the shit you want, but we're doing it!" See the very first post of this thread as a reference. It's like whoa whoa whoa..wait a second. Give people a chance before you start telling people not to talk shit. Don't be such a girl about it. I know ya'll are trying to make a name for yourselves but getting all defensive makes you look stupid. Especially when you follow up with stuff about how you're not going to be going to any events this year because you don't ALL have time to go to ALL of the meets, or because you're good, but you need some practice and that's why you're waiting til next year. Guess what those meets are for for everyone that goes to them..A Learning Experience! That's awesome that ya'll want to have an all girls drifting club, but spend more time getting good at drifting than coming up with websites and product ideas.

I also like how you said 2 of ya'll don't know how to drift yet but ya'll are going to take them under your wings, and then you later said that if anyone knows girls that are good at drifting then send them your way. Why can't we just send more girls to your "drift team" that want to learn so you guys can teach them too? The only team I'm on right now is a soccer team, so I'll just use that as an analogy here to make my point. I sure as hell wouldn't be bragging about my soccer team if we had guys on our team that didn't know how to play soccer but were eager to learn how. I don't care if they have the coolest equipment in the world or if they're a model. And to add to that, I wouldn't be telling people about my soccer team if we weren't planning on actually playing any games this season. Wanna know why? It's because that sounds more like a group of guys that like to hang out that all think soccer is cool than it does an actual "team."

Yes, and the point that I, as well as others, am making is that cars that AREN'T capable of doing a donut can still drift. Your car doesn't have to be able to do a donut to be able to drift. That's just stupid.

haha this thread makes me laugh! So many views on drifting..... mostly from people ive never seen at an event!


1. the street- thats where I learned but thats cause there were no events back in 03'. :( and yes I got in my fair share of trouble but thats not why I stoped. I stopped cause it stopped being a challenge drifting empty lots w no course.

2. ebrake- I use it for what ever the fuck I want to! I initiate w/ it when the corner needs it. Am I a poser? wait..... I dont care what you think cause I drift cause its fun not to get on here and brag that im the new drift king! other techniques are cool if your initiateing at the corner :gay: or late apexing :gay: but for starting way early before the corner rip the ebrake, clutch kick do what ever the hell works for your car!!!!

3. Open diff- I drifted on an open diff for about 2.5 years. Its possible you just have to haul ass before initiateing. Hell I even got top 8 at the first drift fury on an open diff w/ a stock KA. (Damn marty beat me ;) ). So go out there and learn on an open if you must.

4. girls drifting- Is cool as fuck. Im not gonna hate on you for being interested in the sport I love. So far Tracy and some awesome chick in ocala are the only two ive actually seen at our events :( so thats probably why you guys get called out so much.

5. Drifting is easy- It is easy to drift 2nd gear in a circle yes, but trying to do a whole course at a good speed and take the correct line is hard as fuxorz so get to an event and try.....

6. HATE- its not good for the sport and its not good for the scene. This is one thing that is making the american drift scene lame. Drifting is about fun, fuck all that other bullshit!!!!

That's why a lot of these guys have no problem making ungentleman like comments about the pictures of girls on this forum. You have to understand, though, that the biggest use of the internet is for communication. If you choose to communicate on the internet you have to accept all kinds of communication, including criticism. Also, if you post pictures of yourself or allow other too, you are inviting people to make comments whether they be positive or negative. If you can't handle the criticism, be careful what you put out there for everyone to see.

Also, someone said earlier that judging people is childish, and that it reminded them of high school drama. Unfortunately this will never go away. If you show up to a job interview wearing jeans and a tshirt, you're going to be judged negatively. That's not high school nonsense, that's the real world.
