yep it sure is :] just finished a dohc swap in my driveway a couple weeks ago.. now were just tryin to get it reliable haha.. clutch is gone. valve cover bolts are stripped (FUCKIN AYE!!) the sparkplugs we bought like a month ago and only drove twice with them like disenagrated in the fuckin cylinder.. took us about an hour to get all the pieces of plastic out.. and oil was leakin out like freakin crazy so i cant drive it cus the valve cover wasnt tight cus the dumbass who sold me the motor torqued the bolts down WAY to much.. so we gotta rethread em.. but OTHER THAN THAT its good lol.. but anyways aww sellin it?!?! what a shame :( btw.. your front bumper has been sittin in your yard for like a month.. what for?? lol and i was kinda hopin id see an intercooler there but hey.. its still a ka.. ka love :] haha

well if you do sell it.. at least stay in the nissan family.. and 240 family if you can!

after my build people will look at my motor and think its just a stock motor with a turbo...
but im replacing everything except the crankshaft lol and i might evne get a stroker kit for it if i end up having hte monye. 2.4 liters has more potential than 2.0 liters
an sr swap is just an easy 200 hp outa the box
its actually hard to pull more power out of the NA ka unless you replace a TON of parts inside

oh do you know if thers any harmonic issues / balancing issues in revving a KA to 7k rpm? after i do springs, valve, cams, rods, pistons, timing chain, chain tensioner... ect lol

Just remember there will ALWAYS be a faster car than yours. I'm not trying to discourage you, but it's true. I remember back in high school we used to hang out at the waffle house by the mall of georgia occasionally, and one night a guy showed up with his fox body mustang on a freaking trailer and asked if anyone wanted to race for pinks. Don't be that deusch bag. Just build a car that's fun, safe, and good looking.

As for KA-T's not being able to go over 300hp w/o being built, you might wanna check out ka-t.org. There are guys doing it with stock internals. Don't underestimate proper tuning.

As for having a 240 that can "eat" Z06's, it won't be a fun car to drive. Z06's are designed to have the power that they have. They have things that we don't have, like traction control. I hope you don't ever plan on driving your 350+hp car in the rain.

I talked to a guy who had a DSM once and he was telling me about how his dad said he couldn't put a new motor in his car until his current one blew. So he turned the boost up to like 32lbs. and it ran for weeks and weeks before it finally blew. What crazy motors. When you said 26psi awd I imediately thought DSM.

not dsm.....geez... for all you american people (only those who think evos are dsm's or even the 3rd gen eclipse's), who never grew up with these cars.....we never heard of a talon, laser, or even an eclipse until later on. we know what an fto, gto3000, galant awd, and the evolution has always been around since i was 10 years old.

the evo has their own engineering team ( a very old wise man) who puts cars throught rallies and test them to be put on the streets detuned for daily consumers.

dsm only lasted for like 5-7 years (with chrysler ) or some crap like than from the first gen eclipse/ talon/laser... to the halfway second or some crap before they went down the drain. those things do have the 4g63's but are not the same as the evo capabilities...that why they always break! the potential is there but you need it reliably built. believe it, its no evo! some even came with a 420A motor...? wtf? dodge neon?

the dsm's to me are the worst track driving cars, front heavy, horrible shifter feel, horrible angle and control.
awd might as well be 4wd. good street car for my gf to drive around and pick up more girls for the g-bang.

we even did an awd spider gsx turbo....crap.

to me, the best part about the car is that is has tons of potential and can be very fast. not very drivable dollar for dollar around tracks. drag racing, its an option.


but for my time and money i rather work on something that the bolts do not break and not burn my arms on the manifolds. i ven had my fair share of dsm's but i bought them, supd them up and sold it to idiot kids who think they have an evo..

not being prejudice, i love the 4g63's and they are one of the best motors ever built along with the dependle sr20, 3sgte, 4age, and honda motors (4bangers)

internals and bolts are of different grades. cylinder walls and etc are made of different materials for cost benefit purposes. copy of a motor, just like korean cars with japanese cars...same motor design so it has to work, but they are not equal in many ways. just a thought.
