I have a 1993 S13 Coupe with a single 4X6 in the front. My passenger side just has a big hole in the door! lol Anyway, I got some 6.5 adapters and speakers. Now the hack before me had some kind of wood and a few sheet metal screws holding the one speaker in.

The are 4 holes for the adapter plate near the holes for the plastic trim clips. The garage I was working in was poorly lit so I could not tell if there were threads in these holes. If there are threads, what size bolt should I use? Do people just use the christmas tree plastic clips? Should I just use a larger self taping screw?

If my car was not so hacked, it would be easy to figure out.... I went to the junkyard to take a look, but there were just big holes in the door, like my passenger side!

There is suppose to be a plastic piece holding your 4*6 in, but seems like you don't have one. The 6.5 adapters use the original screws and holes to mount, so go to the junk yard and find a S13 and take those screws that is holding the plastic pieces on.

Yeah my last trip to the junkyard, somebody had already taken all the screws! lol I have a huge jar full of bolts and none of them were the right size. Anyway, I went to another yard and they had all the screws. It was informative to see what was originally there!

I would, but my tap set is a couple hundred miles away! I have the right screws now, so it should be all good. Anything is much better than the zip ties I have in there now!
