my new motor is a 95', my car is a 93'..
the 2 years have different distributors.. so i changed the distributors and am pretty positive the new motor is still in time, @ TDC on upstroke the rotor is pointing at #1 so its in time..
the motor turns over, but no fire at all, cleaned the cap, still no fire. Pulled a plug and turned it over, still no fire. pulled a plug wire from the coil and held it close, turned it over, still no fire.
everything is plugged up, but i cant figure it out... wtf ??

are you using a s13 or s14 distributor/coil assembly? I'm pretty sure you still need to use your s13's

you need the external ignition with its distributor

yea, i swapped the 93' distributor into the 95 motor..
the 95 up motors have a coil on the distributor..94 down do not

i've narrowed it down to a wire that got cut accidentally... a big thick double housing grey wire that runs to the coil, coming from the wiring harness..
its one of those wires that has housing-wire-another housing- then wire..
so its really hard to fix it, and i can solder..

get to it!

No clue. I will have to do some research. Possibly ECU related?

-If you use the s13 engine harness you'll need to change the distributor to a s13 dohc unit and add the coil assembly. (All s14 distributors have internal coil).
I hope that helps.

yea i changed the distributor, and am using using the same coil assembly..

is the 1993 exhaust cam bigger than the 1995?
if so swap that suckah into yo 95
couple donkeys there m8 :goodjob:
also, i would expect more power out of the larger exhaust cam going onto the the exhaust side of the 1995 becasue you will have a turbo.
that way the air has less resistance when pushing out into the turbo... faster smoother air movement till the turbo.
on NA engines id guess if you stuck it on the intake side youd get more power because you want less resistance pulling air in than pushing out on an NA engine... of course its very slight difference but if i were u id just get bigger cams for both intake and exhaust =D
