yeah, i bought ebay shit. shame on me.

but my coolant res failed and their solution at $76 shipped vs over $100 for another one from the stealership (that would also harden and fail eventually) was a no-brainer.

they have one specifically for the s13, but since my rb's fusebox is mounted where that goes i picked up the one they offer for the mk3 supra (it's about 4"x8"x8") and am going to mount it w/ the top-DS radiator bolt. with the near-20yr-old wiring harness from an R32 in my car, i'm inclined to fuck around with that as little as possible.

on delivery, the fittings on the fill level gauge were a little loose, which is not a good thing for a part of a pressurized system, but i tightened them up and i'm thinking it should fix my issue after that.

the tank itself had a few scratches on it, but for $76 you're not buying show-quality, rite? i'm not inclined to bitch as long as it holds pressure.

i'm gonna put the giant ricer sticker they sent w/ it on my brother's GMC pickup as a prank :D

so would i if i could mount it in the stock location... but again, my RB's fusebox is there and i don't want to fuck with relocating a wiring harness that's almost as old as my younger sibling.

i was looking for "universal" reservoirs and found this; given the dimensions i have to work with it's the right thing at the right price, because originally i was planning on having to get a smaller battery from optima and sharing space with that. i like this idea more.

goddamn D, threatening w/ a ban already? i just got here :P

this is what i bought:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-92-Supra-Alum-Coolant-Overflow-Tank-7MGTE-MK-III-New_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262 QQcategoryZ33742QQihZ022QQitemZ350042001118

this is their unit for the S13:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/240SX-S13-ALUMINUM-OVERFLOW-COOLANT-TANK-Sr20det-KA24DE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1 262QQcategoryZ33742QQihZ022QQitemZ350042000812

the caps/fittings/etc on the two look the same, it's just the shape of the reservoir that's different.

i'll agree with the previous sentiment that the tried-and-true CS unit may be worth the few extra bucks for those who can use it, but the welds on this thing look pretty good for the price and i don't feel i've wasted my money. that's my review.

aaah, yeah, my bad. i skimmed right over the part about the RB fuse box.

no worries. i wish i had gone with CS's TC rods, cuz i need to replace those too and they're a good deal, but i went through a supplier of OEM parts who i worked with on my old e30, and they offered what i *thought* was a replacement pair at $70... turns out that was the price each. i failed on that one, but at least i know they'll be good till i'm ready to do the whole suspension, unibody-to-wheel.

anyway yeah my point is they have good products, i just couldn't use the one for this app.

I use them a bit, have good deals on intercooler piping. Good aluminum too, not that other cheap crap that comes in most ebay kits.
