95-96 J30 vlsd + upgraded clutch setup of some sort (rb20 lightweight flywheel + 350z clutch perhaps) . Is there anything else I'm missing? I'll probably go ahead and install my subframe spacers too...

All you really need to do is upgrade your clutch. The rest are just gravy if you can afford it.

^What he said.

Go with a good clutch.
I got one from Tyler WAYYY back when.. I still haven't ran it, but it's supposed to hold 300+ ftlb, so I think it should be fine.

Man, the clutch posses a really big problem for me: $

I'm DEFINITELY going to have to pay to have my clutch changed. Fuck...this is yet another KA-T deterrent (for now...)

I think I'll either go with the white bunny special or the RB20/Z33 setup.

Is that all you did?

why would you pay to have it changed? wouldn't you just do it yourself?
Whats a white bunny special?

Yes, I WOULD love to change it myself...
...IF I didn't live in apartments without access to a garage of any sort.

white bunny special = nissan d21 flywheel + z32 non-turbo clutch.

I think it's like 225mm vs. 240mm

oh shit, that sux meng

white bunny special sounds pretty friggin sweet though, i'd never heard of that, i'm too noob.

Would you be using a stock non-turbo clutch for that or some kinda aftermarket? I kinda have a stocker laying around but it was "in a fire" lol...

I did the WB spl shit..
it's a heavy flywheel mang..
you can get the WB spl for cheap, but you pay for it in the weight of the FW.

If you want mine.. I'll sell you the D21 FW + pro luk gold clutch set for like $150.

It works.. but I dunno :/

hmm...the rb20 lightened flywheel is $239 and the 350z clutch is about $250 shipped...

No but that is all that is really needed, and that is just because the stock clutch will start to slip very quickly due to the new found power.
It is not necessary to have a lightend flywheel.
Any quality aftermarket performance clutch will be fine for a daily driver with a low boost set up.
Godsintheradio will gladly swap your clutch for a nominal fee, send him a PM and he will hook you up.

Preciate it buddy.
If theres one thing I do, and do well, and pretty cheap, its clutch swaps.

Let me know whenever you want to have it done.
I should be able to have your car done in a day depending on what time you drop it off.

Let me ask this, not to get off topic, but if a RB flywheel works with a KA, does that mean I could just use any KA clutch/flywheel setup on an RB? or a KA starter on an RB?

I was mainly going on word from someone who knows what they're talking about until I did some research myself because of your post:

"This is the an ACT heavy duty clutch kit orginally intended for the 350z. This clutch setup can be used in conjunction with an RB20 flywheel, in order to gain more friction surface, and more torque holding capacity for your KA24DE.

This clutch setup is rated to 515Ft. Lbs. from ACT for the 350Z."

BUT, from an RB owner in New Zealand:

"i've thought about getting a KA24de flywheel from the states, they have lightweight ones running for round $280NZD at the moment, but the crank hole is too large bolt holes line up though and you can add extra dowels for the locking plate, any clutch place should be able to do it"

Thats an interesting idea.
I'd just have to see it done before I could spend the money on it.
Like, I'd physically have to try it all out before I would buy it.
I hate to ask, but why not just order a KA setup that you know works for sure, ya know?
Seems like you could almost do that for less than the custom setup, and have the same results.

What kind of KA-T set up are you planning on running?

Garrett T3/TO4E 50 trim .48
JGS Kit
SARD FPR
Walbro
RX-7 460cc's w/ top feed fuel rail
PLX wideband
FMIC
Full 3" exhaust
Enthalpy or Emance ECU tune
Then fine tuning with SAFC2 + dyno

Then you will definitely need a quality clutch to hold it. Have you tried Competition Clutch?

Neejay

I haven't tried anything...lol. :(

I don't even know what kind of clutch I have now. This is my first manual car (bought back in August of last year)

I would assume it is most likely a stock clutch. The set up your looking at is capable of @350 hp. Your injectors are your limiting factor. But that is still a mighty powerful engine, so a stout clutch is the only way to go.
Get with Competition Clutch and see what they can do for you.
