dont ever cut springs when they are still connected to the strut assembly.
just dont do this.
no one informed me otherwise and i didnt bother asking or looking it up before i whipped out the good ole dremel
im glad god isnt mad at me atm
cuz you could like die from doing that.....

and i wasnt really thinking
ive never done spring work i didnt know they were preloaded ....
i thought the car did it when you dropped the weight of the car on them...

oh no i took the strut / springs out of my part car and cut the springs while they were in the strut assembly
not in the car though
its still tensioned though... i didnt know that.... :(

yeah the frekin springs snapped themselves apart halfway through cutting with a dremel.... scared the piss outa me
i coulda easilly smashed a finger or lost a finger...... lol no worries
battle scars!
haha my hands have cuts on them from workin on my car...
ill keep the cuts... but pass on the loss of fingers...

i was bored... decided i didnt wanna put my vlsd on yet cuz its 45+ pounds... and im a pussy. so i decided to see what cut springs would look like on my car... so i cut my part car springs well 2 of em. lol yes i cut 2. i didnt learn ...... iwas DETERMINED =D

bro a few weeks ago zapped off the bolt holding the spring to the strut from his wife's lexus since we were replacing the struts and bought took my head off. was fun.

ya thats not always the best way, although half the time if im taking my springs off the strut i never compress them just point them towards the yard and start going at them until the top plate and nut going flying across the yard, one time it went straight into one of our cars and put a huge dent ha, glad your ok and still have your hand

thats the way i was gonna go but the stuff i wanted ended up being 650 for all of it and coils were 850 so i was like ehhh ill just get coils save me some time and they are 32 way adjustable and height adjustable so... went with those =D
