View Full Version : did swap from ka 2 ca18det and i cant get the driveshaft 2 fit on the diff.

yeah i did everythin i was sopposed 2 get under the car 2 put the driveshaft in and it wont fit on the diff its like its to long or something do i have to buy a new drive shaft or is there something else i can do?:thinking:

Do you have the driveshaft pushed all the way into the tranny?

which driveshaft do you have? are you re-using your old one or swapping in another?

How far off is it? MMs or inches??

U might need to drop the tranny a little then slide the driveshaft in. That little bit of slack should hopefully be enough to get that other end into the diff. then just bolt the tranny mounts back on

that dust shield needs to come out, its keeping the yoke from seating all the way.

You should be able to use the one from your tranny. Just grab the CA18 one with pliers, twist, and pull.

OK yours wont work, just lose the shield :) perhaps one from an auto tranny will work if you feel like keeping one on there.

see what the picture was for?? i expected you left it in there but i didnt know for sure.

take a hammer and whack it off, it should budge easy.. but if it doesnt, you are hitting the wrong thing.

I mean its been on there for prolly 18 years so it'll take some muscle, but yeah it comes off easy enough.
